63-year old James Edward Helton of Meridianville was struck by a vehicle on US. 231 north of Huntsville Wednesday morning February 2nd. in just such a hit and run accident. He was walking at 3 am along Highway 2-31/ 4-31 near Patterson Lane in Meridianville. The driver of the vehicle that struck Helton has not been found.

James served in the United States Navy and he was formerly employed with Star Market in Meridianville, and is survived by his sister: Lynda (Michael) Bowen; three nieces: Marisa (Andrew) Hardiman, Gina (Scott) Holman, Jessica (Zachary) Beaman; Great nieces and nephews: Hayden, Laney and Bryce.
