30-year old Matthew Hunter Johnson of Athens was killed on Interstate 565 in Huntsville in a single-vehicle accident when his automobile left the road and struck a tree. There were no eyewitnesses to the accident, but a passing motorist said that the car that Johnson was driving was badly damaged and unidentifiable. There were no skid marks to indicate that Johnson tried to stop or slow down. Johnson worked at the Buffalo Rock Company. The accident happened around 7:30 p.m..
