An 18-wheel tractor trailer carry boxes of oil hit a guard rail about one mile south of Taylor Rd. near the Flint River Bridge, flipping across both the north and south bound lanes of Highway 431, before taking out the guardrail and toppling over the bridge, exploding into flames.

The driver’s body was found but has yet to be identified. It is only known from the tags on the truck that he is from Michigan.

Hazmat crews were called to the scene and are cleaning up the mess from the oil spill. Only one lane in each direction is open on the stretch of Highway 431, and officials have said that it will take weeks to repair the structural and fire damage that was done to the Flint River Bridge. Official said that the cause of the accident is under investigation.
