Desha Michelle Boggan, age 40 was killed in an automobile accident that occurred two days earlier on Lauderdale 36, four miles north of Killen. Boggan was a passenger in a car, a 2002 Montero Sport driven by 37-year old Stephen Alan Inman. She died at Huntsville Hospital Sunday afternoon. Inman was uninjured.

According to http://www.timesdaily.com/, “Authorities at the scene said the vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree, flipped around and struck another tree. Emergency personnel said Boggan was pinned under the dashboard and had to be extracted by firefighters and rescue personnel.”

Boggan was a passenger in the car driven by Inman around 2:20 p.m. when under unknown circumstances the vehicle left the roadway, flipped and struck multiple trees. The accident, the third causing a fatality in the county in less than a month remains under investigation.

Boggan’s death was the third Shoals automobile accident fatality since July 26. On July 26, 82-year old Billy Hamilton died from injuries sustained in a two-car motor vehicle accident in Cherokee. On Saturday, Pamela E. Clemons, 58, of Florence, was pronounced dead at the scene by Lauderdale Coroner Andy High from injuries from in a two-car accident at the intersection of Helton Drive and Rickwood Road in Florence.
